My name is Julia Bowen and I live in Eastlakes, just south of Sydney City and really close to the airport. I am lucky though, when the wind is from the southeast, the airplanes go over my next door neighbour's house and not mine!
I bake fabulous sourdough bread....and now I have a shop at The Grand Eastlakes Shopping Centre in Evans Avenue.
If you want to get your hands on one of our amazing sourdough loaves, you can either rock up at the shop or order online.
You will need to sign up as a new customer if you aren't one already, or you can call or text me on 0415 537 217 and I can help you sign up.
All ingredients are certified Australian Organic and all my bread is made from only 3 ingredients - flour, salt and water.
I will be able to go wider soon but my focus is on a quality product so I am taking care not to compromise quality for reach.

Most of my recipes are based on ones created and posted by the vast array of home bakers and microbakers in the US. I have made adjustments due to our climate, the local organic flour I use, and also to scale up the number of loaves I can bake at any one time. It's an entirely different proposition baking 1-2 loaves to baking 24 at a time, especially when people want consistently great bread.

Sourdough bread takes a while to prepare - I start 2 days before to create the starter/levain, a day mixing, stretching, shaping and proofing, then and cold proof the loaves overnight before baking fresh very early in the morning on the day you have ordered it. Please note our trading days and hours for pickup from the store. Note, I can only guarantee loaf availability when you order 2 days ahead and then pre-pay with credit card, apple pay or paypal.
